Yes I will, the pads need replacing soon anyway, so a good time to clean the calipers up & get the new seals/pistons fitted, I've had the piston kit for a few months now. L19MUD Posted December 1, 2019 Author Share Posted December 1, 2019 Callipers put back together with no problems. I just used a thick washer and a g clamp to get the wiper seal retainers in. Mo Went for genuine AP pistons and seals. Popular Post L19MUD Posted December 8, 2019 Author Popular Post Share Posted December 8, 2019 A little more progress this weekend sees the front suspension back together and the front callipers assembled with pads and new pins. I have also put a couple of coats of paint on the fuel tank and steering box I then thought I would remove the loom from the old chassis. Cue some swearing and I was puzzled why it was stuck. I cut the top off a section of chassis and found the cause When I fitted the rear crossmember a few years ago I threaded the loom through a tennis ball to prevent it getting damaged from the welding. I bought based on the experience of others when I bought one for my 109. The only issues I had then were the rear tub feont mount holes which I had to re drill. On that basis I went for Richards again for this one. Chassis is now ready to accept the body, I have repaired the drivers footwell, painted and stone chipped underneath the body and I am finally ready to drop the body back on. We got it lined up perfectly first time, on bulkhead bolt straight in and then the other needed a ratchet strap to pull the foot in by 2mm. All the rear cross member bolts then lined up exactly. You should try a 110 Csw with two farm jacks by your self that was fun especially when it tried to topple over. Congratulations though it feels good to get it back together. I had a farm Jack on each bulkhead foot and then the back was supported on builders trestles with poles across. We then lifted the ramp up as we dropped the bulkhead on the Jack's.
