P38 Viscous Coupling

I take it you mean the viscous coupling for the center diff? It's definitely easier with the cross member lose, so the transfer box can be lowered a bit. You don't need to take it out competely, so refitting will be easier. I seem to recall the Y-pipe gets a bit in the way as well...

Completely right, just dropped about 50mm and out popped the coupling easily. Was also hoping to just undo one end pof the prop but in the end that has to come out completely.

I thought you had mixed this up with another thread I have going about the cooling system. I missed the fact that there is a vicous coupling on the cooling fan.
