Where can I buy one of these connectors?

Recommended Posts

Sadly no. I've perused the usual suspects - Autosparks, polevolt, 12volt planet, but not found the right type.

I suppose 'any' 6 way connector might do, but both halves of the connectors would have to be changed.
Tto put more detail into the original request, the following pictures will help (all courtesy of LRWorkshop ).

This is the schematic layout of the pins, casing, etc.  YPC10038

C278-connector-face.png

This shows it in situ, although the picture doesn't make it clear which is the main loom, I assume the description 'female part' means it's the white connector in the foreground, not the 'yellowed' connector that is mainly hidden.

Googling YPC10038 produces similar images, or references to Workshop Manuals / Part Listings.

I guess we are into listing appropriate manufacturers, when we (I) can think of them.
At the moment I'm limited to Rists and Amphenol (I've done no further searching, I'm merely intending to 'encourage' the custom wiring or Defender specialists) 🙂

Regards.

The lighter connector in the forground is the male connector, with pin terminals.

The darker connector is the female connector (YPC10038), with receptacle terminals.

The female connector is on the vehicle's main harness, the male connector is on the tails from the column switch.

How do you know such black magic information? The electrical connection world seems to be mostly smoke and daggers to me its a nightmare. Do you know what crimping tool you need for them too?

Maybe here...Link

Think you might have had a copy and paste fail there. I'm not sure about the electrical conductivity of a Windermere Holiday Lodge. Or it's ability to fit on a 300TDi wiring loom.

Thanks, but it's the switch end I was after.

It's OK, PaulMc has what I need. I just have to figure out all the other missing connectors then will place an order with him.

I posted some info on the crimping tools that I use, here -

https://forums.lr4x4.com/topic/14892-wibbly-wobbly-speedo/?do=findComment&comment=802149

(the pictures have been ruined by PhotoBucket 😠 )

I now have two models of reasonably priced (Chinese chinese.gif ) ratchet crimpers in stock, which perform an adequate crimp on these Sumitomo 090 terminals, as well as the TE(AMP) 070 terminals used on the switch connectors -

For 0.25 - 1.0mm²

For 0.5 - 1.5mm²
