Head lights

Recommended Posts

Quick question,

on the TD5’s and some of the early defenders 90’s / 110’s I’m guessing, the head lights have Dim dip beam, if I fit LED head lights will the dim dip work on the led’s dim the led’s down or would I have to by pass the dim dip relay box thing under the bonnet?

Yes, @western will know, but essentially you remove the dim dip relay from behind the dash.

as your now fully Td5 wired, either

1.remove the pink relay & jumper lead the 2 blue/red wires in relay socket,

2. buy & fit the genuine LR bypass relay which just does the above

3. unplug the resistor under the bonnet IIRC its in right rear corner of engine bay.

pretty sure the dim dip won't work with led headlights as the led current draw is a lot less than normal halogen units.

on dim dip the Led head lights as pictured above come on but with one of the outer lights off and are a lot dimmer
