I myself have had problems with my engine running sweet and this MAY, go somewhere to solving the problem not only to mine but to others as well. This is for all of us who follow the book, yet still struggle to find the answers Look up.....Britannica Restorations LTD ( 2.5 NA Misfire. So much confusion, but the thermal imaging camera came to the rescue! ) Part 1 Followed by ( The 2.5 NA Defender diesel LIVES! Job done! ) Then look at the cost of the INJECTORS....WOW !! Many a weekend spent headphones on and watching..... brilliant videos. Check out his lighting tips for doing work on the Landy..... Having said that, i was always told to take injectors to a specialist and to NEVER get your fingers in the way as the pressure from the pump can prove fatal. I certainly would never have thought about turning the injectors upside down to inspect the spray pattern, apart from which, i would be visualizing the pattern in real time as opposed to slow motion. i suppose , that their must be 2 trains of thought here, 1, Why didn't the injection specialist pick up on this and 2 Could their be a minor difference between Testing them on a bench and real time operation when in situ on the engine, whereby it could cause enough of a difference to the smoothness / running of the engine. I wonder how many of us amateurs have ended up playing with the injection pump timing in an attempt to getting the engine to run sweet,....i know i have ,and i don't mind admitting it. So in some respects. this video has made me stop and think in the future. Always get a second opinion as we can, and do, make mistakes. DC, I've seen a couple of his vid's. Very good. But lord £230 for an injector, that's £920 WHAT !!! Surely that can't be right. .... Ok £230 for 4 Genuine Injectors i could understand. I liked the fact it took him a couple of days to sort it out,....kind of gives people like me , a little hope and to stop beating myself up when i can't solve a problem straight away, A bit like now actually. It reminds me of something my Dad used to say when i was younger..( Nobody is good at everything but were all good at something, ...so collectively we can always help each other ) A bit like this forum!!. Snagger Posted November 16, 2019 Share Posted November 16, 2019 It isn’t impossible that water ingestion has damaged or blocked an injector or two, Dave. The extraordinary pressures generated could force a bit of coke or soot back into the injector and affect the injection pattern. But I’d expect that to be permanent or to clear once, not to be an issue every time you start the engine and to clear, only to return. There is nothing to stop you removing them and having them tested, just to be sure, either identifying or eliminating a source of the problem. I don’t think testing would cost much, though rebuilding them may cost a couple of hundred pounds. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I will get to the bottom of this, and thinking about it, i'm sure i still have the injectors in the shed from that 19j 2.5 Turbo engine that i used parts for my current engine the other year. The guy's who tested my injectors some time back received a few beer tokens as it didn;t take long to do. So i'm now thinking....take all the injectors down whilst the weather is, what it is and get them all checked. That way, i shall have 4 spare. If there is an injector that needs rebuilding, then so be it. I am in agreement as far as the Head Gasket being blown is concerned. Can't wait for it to stop raining, the wind is blowing straight down my driveway. However... once it stops i shall be at it and keep you posted.
