I can't guess how much extra faff it is to take pix and upload to a thread every time you as much as breathe. Yet what goes round, comes round. I promise, I don't get things right all the time either, the lesson here is definitely, others looking over your shoulder pays. Well done to those sharper than me. And heaven be praised, the clutch is green. The clutch came that colour. I don't know how much is marketing, but it's supposed to be a clutch designed for engines that will be abused a bit more than normal. Gazzar
Oh yes. We've been there. It's why I don't do this for anyone else. I can walk away when I like/need. I'll do a swift tidy up tomorrow, and go for engine in on Monday.
Landrover17H
Gald you have it sorted. Green. Worth another £50 for that alone. Who makes heavy clutch-plates then? Edited July 18, 2020 by Landrover17H
Landrover17H
Lumeee... talk of the devil, there's this.... last time I saw a decent one of these I had it. Darn sarf too. Looked your clutch up. PowerSpec? I see what you mean wrt to the blurb, you can only do your best. Who knows what's truly being sold here. Gotta chuckle, reads like it's written by a man with delusions, and the world's tiniest winkle. Edited July 19, 2020 by Landrover17H
Gazzar
Yet his work on other clutch stuff is very good. Reduced force pedals, hd release bearings, wire clips for the push rods etc. Happy to support an innovator, rather than a blue box shifter.
Gazzar
I think I'm nearly ready for the install.
Gazzar
The various clutch bits, I think I'll assemble the fork and release bearing on the bench. I might have to take the paint off the input pinion cover, as it will interfere with the release bearing slider lubrication.
Gazzar
I suppose that it would be bad to think about supercharging this, wouldn't it? 2

Gazzar
As a language, English has stolen words, grammar and idioms from every other significant language (and French!!) on earth. It's a bas'tard mongrel language, and rightly proud of it. I think recycling colonial phrases that have dropped out of use in England over time, isn't something in going to get irate about. Know what I mean, Innit, daddio?

Not at all, perfectly normal thing to think about, and the good thing is, you have MS, so you don't need to do it now, and then just retune it. Belt driven centrifugal? Gazzar
The clutch prep was fairly straightforward, I cleared the paint from the pinion cover.

Gazzar
I also tried to tighten the belhousing to box bolts, but I think they were tight enough. New ww socket now on order. I've had that one nearly 30 years. Cheap set from Argos.
