mej999
Hi, New to this forum. I have just fitted a Mega jolt system to my LR Rover V8 with 4.6 bottom end and 3.9 14 CUX top end. I have searched the internet and this forum for hours looking for a good Ign Map. I can find lots for 3.9, 3.5 etc but nothing for a 4.6. Everything I read says that a 4.6 should not have as much advance as a 3.9 etc. Does anybody have a good map as a starter for 10? Thanks, Michael
FridgeFreezer
I have a couple of .msq files from my 4.6's you could extract the ignition maps from, would have to dig the laptop out of the garage though.

FridgeFreezer
Right, here's my (Megasquirt) MSQ's plus a screenshot just in case... The 109 (4.6 V8, piper stump-puller cam): http://fuddymuckers.co.uk/files/ms/109_current.msq The 127 (Stock 4.6 V8, GEMS type): http://fuddymuckers.co.uk/files/ms/127_current.msq You should note that although I can solder 'em together I'm a muppet at tuning, these have been set up by more knowledgeable types and I've made minor tweaks where I've felt the need - so don't take these as a masterpiece of performance tuning - there's likely a lot that could be improved! Also bear in mind your timing marks have to be right in the first place
mej999
Hi Fridge, Thanks very much for the maps. Is the left axis in KPA? Which one would you recomend I start with? 3.9 14 cux top end and used for racing? Are the map colours significant? Just wondering what they mean if anything? Regards, Michael
FridgeFreezer
Screenshots from TunerStudio so yes the left axis is kPa. Colours are just for looking at Honestly I don't think it matters which you use, probably the 127 one as it has a stock cam but would you be worrying this much about swapping a distributor across from one engine to another? steve200TDi
Very nice! I've always wanted to watch or have a go at some of the rallies up north, The scottish hill borders rally in particular, but being they're in Scotland and I'm in Kent, it's all a bit far away!!
