SuffolkLR
Gents, Looking at purchasing a 110, and I’m trying to determine if the frame vin is original. Has anyone seen a “curved” vin number or is this indicative of a chassis stamp that’s been mucked with ?
SuffolkLR
I’m used to seeing them quite straight, but thought someone may have seen one like this based on the weld line
cackshifter
It looks galved. I think if it's a replacement chassis it may have been stamped by the chassis maker, Richards offered to do one of mine a bit back when I had a chassis from them. western
Just looked at the VIN part I cut from my orignal 1989 110's chassis when I replaced it with a galv chassis, the VIN is wavy too, definitely not in a straight line, also it has the old BL circle logo at each end without the 'L' in the centre. possiblly stamped on purpose at the factory in that way to try to make it harder to duplicate if the vehicle was stolen
Maverik
As western has said, I've seen a fair few older numbers and they also have the circular (3 way yinyang) type British Layland logo at each end.
