croozir Posted March 30, 2020 Share Posted March 30, 2020 Hi All I have a problem with the gearbox can't get it into 1st gear. I found the circlip was off the mainshaft at the transfer box so i refitted it and got first gear again momentarily, then it wouldn't engage 1st again (even with the engine turned off)... I then removed the selector cover and found 1st gear synchro hub (baulk ring) badly burred at the square drive lugs. I need to remove the mainshaft to replace the 1st gear synchro hub. Has anyone removed the mainshaft through the transfer housing with the gearbox in situ.
