127" chassis id

Hi

I've got a friend who have purchased what is supposed to be a 127".

But when looking at the vin it states that its a 110"

Where 110" chassis used when making 127" or is it budge ?

They were built on an extended110 chassis at first, I think Foley did the work.

Many are build on a 110 chassis at the production line and, in thiose days, rolled to SV to be cut and extended.

LR rarely bothered to change the VIN details

Many V5 docs say they're 110.

This car is now in Denmark and the worry is to wether the mot-guy will accept it as an 127".

Do you know if its somehow possible to verify this, maybe via the seriesnumber in the vin ?

As above, Land Rover chopped and extended the 127" chassis, from memory until the early 90s when they gained their own 'proper' chassis.

As others say, they started life as 110 HCPU / HD rolling chassis and Land Rover Special Vehicles chopped them & extended them.
