Mutley
Just got a CD Radio off the Bay of thieves XQE500540 Seems in good nick?.....Plugged it in and entered the Code and worked as it should!?! Then after a couple of minutes it flashed ERROR CODE 0000....then flashed READING.... only for a couple of seconds then worked fine for about 10mins then did the same thing again!?! I have not had this with previous radios, so do we think this is a faulty unit or do i need to do something else??? It's gone into a 1995 300Tdi nothing fancy just used the black and brown connectors and the aerial lead, entered the x4 digit code then press 5 to enter the code. Cheers for any help/info Andy
western
Could be a memory fault that is not storing the entered code.
Alsace_rangie
No permanent-live connection wire? Orange or yellow normally. If not connected could be causing memory features to drop. If just the code, check if there is an internal button battery that may have gone flat.
Mutley
Cheers guys, ALL seems OK now!?! It hasn't done it again and i also disconnected for a couple of hours, fed and entered the code back in and as yet no reoccurring of the issue I did contact the seller and he informed me that it was removed over 2 years ago and not been used! So any internal battery for back up would be flat i suspect? Anyway it is working fine now and as it was only £44 i can't complain, thanks again guys. western
Glad it's decided to sort itself out, as you think probably a flat memory battery.
