vinnie mc Posted June 26, 2020 Share Posted June 26, 2020 Hi all trying to press on when I can with my 200 tdi rebuild , I'm about to put pistons back in and have now read that I need to use new con rod nuts and bolts which I know aren't expensive but I haven't ordered which means down tools again till I can get some delivered the last bits I ordered took over a week to arrive so I'm thinking are new ones really necessary, thanks for any advice cheers vinnie Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
western Posted June 26, 2020 Share Posted June 26, 2020 I only used new nuts on my rebuild 2 years ago, the bolts were fine & it was the first time they had been disturbed since it was built by LR. only ref to replacing con rod bolts/nuts in my workshop manual only says retain the con rod caps with new nuts, no mention of replacing the bolts.
