LT230 Transfer Lever

Recommended Posts

Removed the spring. Hammered off the old cup and then stuck the new one in some boiling water for a few minutes to soften it up.

Found a suitable ring spanner to hold the cup in position and then gave the spanner a couple of blows with the hammer at which point the cup slipped back over the pivot ball.

Looks like it just screws out

But yours looks different, what's it off?

LT230 transfer box. I think mines the same but when I tried to unscrew it it looked like it would tear the rubber in between so I decided to find another way👍

The one in the photo is from a disco, the parts diagram is defender, I don’t think the disco one comes apart .

I’m glad I managed to find another method then and not bugger it up 👍

Not a very good diagram as it does not show the lower end of the transfer lever

🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Sorry Western, it didn’t, it’s an earlier box not the later one. The engine is later.

I think I’m suffering from project fatigue, ignore me 😞
