Cameron 12
Hi I was checking under my bonnet today on my discovery 2 ready for a long journey tomorrow and for the first time noticed the extra tank joined to the powered steering tank with ace on it and done some digging and found out what it was. now my question is this the tank is completely dry and I don’t know how long it’s been empty I’ve had the car s couple of months. No warning lights up on dash so wondering maybe if the previous owner has decommissioned the ACE system? I don’t want to put some fluid in it and it messes something up. Thanks in advance
bear
Hi I don't have ace but the first thing to check is that you have the necessary pipe work and rams etc fitted. If so check for leaks in the system especially corroded pipes
JohnnoK
I've never had anything to do with the ACE, but from what I have heard and read, parts are either unobtainium or stupidly priced, so lots of people will delete it and go with the regular non-ACE setup. gilloverland
If ACE has been deleted make sure the pump has been replaced with the idler pulley or you can risk a fire. If not then it can be leak from the pipes when the system tries to work so your not forced to see a puddle at home on the drive. Pull the relay and fuse to prevent this.
