Ben-90
Hi. I’m struggling to find the problem with my td5 defender. Car runs but seams to be missing on 1 cylinder. White smoke out of the exhaust. It will cleared if revved hard but will go back to missing again. Changed air and fuel filter. Replaced injector harness (there was no oil leaking and top connector or in ecu). I’ve pugged a Hawkeye in and there is no codes apart from air-con but it’s not fitted. It did note that no.2 injector was slightly lower than others but only by 2-3. All injectors fire fine.Any ideas where I can look next. Thanks Ben
steve200TDi
Lower by 2-3 what's? It could be your injector copper washers. I think white smoke refers to coolant loss, as blue smoke is oil and could relate to valve stem oil seals. Steve
Peaklander
White smoke can be steam or unburnt diesel. If steam, it disappears quickly in the air whereas if it’s diesel the smell lingers.
