StormB20
I’ve just purchased a Land Rover snatch. Does anyone know how to remove the water between the armoured glass on the front windscreen for MOT preparation. Stellaghost
Glass out I would say even if you could warm it up the moisture will still be in there ready to re-form regards Stephen
StormB20
Many thanks guys. It’s a bit of a nightmare. The armoured glass is bonded in. I will try to get it removed to see if I can split the glass to clean it and get the water removed without damaging anything
FridgeFreezer
Unless you're expecting to be shot at I'd be tempted to remove it and get a commercial vehicle windscreen place to cut you a new screen from regular glass and just space/pack the surround to hold it in. Once water gets in the layers on laminated screens it's not going to come out, and I'm assuming the bulletproof ones contain a lot more layers. You could probably get a lump of suitably thick perspex/polycarbonate cut out but it has drawbacks (scratches and goes foggy with age) and would be pricey. StormB20
Many thanks. I will speak to a specialist glazer and get a price to cover the glass for the front screen. The driver and passenger glass is clear. Need to square the glass away for mot. 👍🏻
FridgeFreezer
I can recommend these guys: https://www.autoglaze.co.uk/specialist-vehicle-glazing/custom-classic-car-glass/ Failing that, general commercial vehicle / coach / plant rather than car windscreen places.
