V8 discovery exhaust manifolds

V8 3.9 efi exhaust manifold, 1997 manufacture vin TA196xxx. According to Rimmer bros website my discovery should have the same manifold as the discovery 2, err7393 and 7394. Is this correct, or will the older manifold fit? The vehicle was originally a Japanese model and has the Rimmer bros tubular manifolds fitted currently. I have found some used manifolds from a range rover classic 3.9 efi, will they fit or is there something about the export models that demand the different manifolds?

There's a few variants which may or may not fit, especially if yours has an aftermarket system.

Some systems have 2 downpipes per side, some have 1, I don't know if they vary in other ways but that's a visual check to start with.

@western might turn up some parts diagrams in the part numbers forum if you ask...

Hi

Thanks for responses, there is nothing wrong with the current tubular manifolds and exhaust except it does not have cats, and whilst it runs on log that is not too much of an issue and the motor runs very well, I just wanted to return it to standard before I put megasquirt on it. I understand the vehicle is some 23 yes old and the cost of doing this would seem extravagant, but looking at another vehicle that would comfortably tow a caravan would mean spending a lot more especially through depreciation and possibly having to go diesel in which case I would rather walk.

Local Kandy specialist told me not to until I have to remove the heads anyway, so will do that. The block is a turner top hat remanufacture so hopefully that won't be soon.

There is a 'tornado' chip in the prince of darkness ECU, could this be causing an issue?

Cheers, Hamish
