jimmye30 Posted November 14, 2020 Share Posted November 14, 2020 Hi all, brand spanking new to the forum as i've taken delivery of my very first defender today! It's a 1990 Land Rover 110 - one of the last pre "Defender" vehicles I believe and it's definitely in need of some loving. The current 19J 2.5TD engine is completely dead, i've been trawling through the internet which brought me to this forum regarding an engine upgrade and i'd also like to convert to Automatic. From bit's i've read, i'd like to upgrade to a 200tdi with the auto box and the best/easiest way would be buying a rotten Disco and using all the good bits. Would the engine and box combination fit into the vehicle without any major modifications to it or would i be needing to cut/weld cross members or modify props? Any help would be much appreciated.
