reb78
Weirdly I have found that fuel hose doesnt seem to last as long as it used to. Mine is on diesel as well. The old stuff that I havent needed to replace is generally fine. The newer stuff (bought as fuel hose compatible with diesel) seems to perish within 3-5 years. monkie
Where did you get it from Richard? I bought some rubber fuel hose from Halfords on special order 7 or 8 years ago (I think it's Michelin) and so far it's holding up well.
reb78
Haha. Some of this did come from Halfords! To be fair I run a lot of SVO in normal times so that may not help?

miketomcat
I know of several classic cars that have gone up in smoke due to perished fuel lines. Perhaps this is how the government are going to get us all to switch to electric. Mike
missingsid
I put my motorcycle in the garage awaiting a rebuild but kept starting it min once a month. All was fine until one day it wouldn't. That's when I read about Ethanol dissolving the tank resin.
dave88sw
This is something that concerns me, particularly when they launch E10 this year. What's the solution? Is there anything resistant to ethanol that will last well?
Bowie69
Teflon lined fuel hose works great.

Is there anything resistant to ethanol that will last well? Alkylate petrol such as Aspen, especially for small engines that can't handle modern fuel. Although at four times the price of petrol - perhaps not! Or for your V8, try aviation fuel! Some of it isn't allowed ethanol in 👍
monkie
I think you've got to go with it ad its like fighting the tide. You can get ethanol resistant fuel lines for E10 petrol. I have also read that solder such as maybe present on some floats in carbs doesn't take well to higher concentrations of ethanol. Here is a link to some fuel hose. https://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk/p-1295-rubber-fuel-hose-ethanol-resistant
David Sparkes
I don't know how this stuff, ordered from Beals, compare to the VWP offering, as they use different classification systems. VWP say good for Petrol to E10 standard, Beals say 'Suitable for petrol and diesel fuel injection systems Not suitable for Ethanol-based fuel where ethanol content is over 20%'. I bought it for use on a diesel system. Regards.
