Disco 98 no crank - no voltage at fuel cel solenoid

Hi guys

Just bought a 98 discovery 300TDI manual. Left it sitting during winter due to chassis work. Was eager to start it again, put battery in wrong way and blew 100A fuse. Replaced it, would still crank but no start. After reading up about it a found that there was no voltage over the fuel cell solenoid.

I hardwired the fuel cell solenoid directly to the positive of the battery but now she won't even crank anymore. I checked all the fuses and relays that I can find and they work fine.

I checked for voltage at the starter solenoid and it shows a steady 12.6V when key is turned to cranking. This basically rules out any immobiliser issues because this would cut voltage to both fuel cel solenoind AND starter solenoid. I even think mine does not have an immobiliser anymore because I could not find it in the dash anyway.

Another thing is that the red alarm light on the dash just keeps on flashing. Besides that the lights etc do work.

Anyone got any ideas?
