Legends on the 12th

I’m going for the first time this year to meet the son of a couple who did a huge travelling journey back in the 70’s in their series as they can’t make it.  We were hoping the actual series would be on display but it’s been held up in France so won’t be there, but I’m sure they will be lots to see

Is anyone going? What’s it like? I’ve not decided on camping just yet as I’m going solo

Both myself and fridge freezer will be there on the shirelrc stand. I've not been before but quite looking forward to it. You'd be more than welcome to join me/the club or I can join you for camping but I'm only staying Saturday night.

That's very kind Mike, I'm happy to tag along with you guys for the night, I'll only be camping for the Saturday if I do stay but still waiting on some news at home with one of the dogs to see how the weekend pans out.

I was unable to get a pass, as I was away for a few days over the weekend, at the most excellent Nash Oakland Farm. Four days of drinking cider, eating huge quantities of meat, swimming in the river and generally having excellent socially distanced fun with friends

That's a shame it would be good to catch up.

I looked at that site some time ago and was keen to put it on the ' places I must visit ' :D

Due to doggy issues and spending some of my Saturday stuck in traffic on the A303, I'm skipping camping and going on my bike to the show.

It'll be good to meet up with a few of you there and I'm looking forward to it

Well what can I say it was a small show with lots of room to grow. It felt reasonably well organized. With the racing all weekend on the circuit and other car clubs in attendance there was plenty to look at and wonder around. It was great to meet @Badger110 and put a face to a name (sorry I had to run off). Would I go again.... Quite likely but it's local and I like classic car racing.

Like wise, good to meet you and Fridge and I would've loved to have stayed but was needed at home.

I did enjoy the racing and it was the first time I'd ever watched it live which gives it a new dynamic.

The show was bolstered quite a lot by the racing if I'm honest, I would've been a disappointment if I'd visited from that far away for about an hours worth of vehicle viewing.

If it wasn't for the b****ard in the pace car I reckon we had a good shout of a top-10 finish

Things you don't often see on a race track...

Good job it's got air-con because you can't roll a window down

Also @Escape and @Shackleton I reckon these are improving with age.

I don't usually do white cars but I might make an exception... as long as it comes with its own butler to polish it because s*d that.

I mean... if this doesn't do it for you you're probably medically dead surely?

A few old bangers wandering round the track too - think he said he was hoping to beat my lap record :P

V8 and leaf springs apparently not for everyone, mind you it probably weighs more than the 109 and the trunk will be full of hamburgers.

I have a huge soft-spot for classic touring cars - Minis going toe-to-toe with Mustangs, Lotus Cortinas, A35's and Mk1 Jags plus some other exotica for good measure.

If you're not winning you can at least look good trying

Between this and Project Binky it's not helping my desire to build a classic mini one day

No ABS but it does have a proper walnut dash

As @miketomcat pointed out - scrutineering stickers on the cage suggest they might actually catch you

This was just kicking around the pit lane with a load of tyres in the boot, it was a very clean restoration - so clean I wondered if it was a genuine £100k JLR jobby.

Freshly restored Camel on the ShireLRC stand, but with all the character retained.

Hmmmmm.

I have a sudden urge to get the PS2 down from the loft and play Grand Turismo. The blue one lost a boost pipe on the Saturday race so was down to 200hp from 650  they fixed it for Sunday and he had a great battle with a wide-body Mk1 Capri, but 4WD and being able to wind up the boost on the last lap won it for him.

Dunsfold were there with a selection - I believe this is a factory SWB Stage 1 V8.

Doing it proper

This was a hell of a line up for a race

Looks like a great weekend, .... some great pics there btw, I have often come back from Goodwood or wherever and been disappointed with the days photography efforts, but I'd have been chuffed with that lot 👍
