Building a fiberglassed plywood hardtop for a 110/130

Recommended Posts

Hi all I'm about to buy a 130 double cab and I'd like to fit a hardtop rear to make it more secure and useable. The tembo covers are very impress I've but it's hard to justify the cost. https://www.tembo4x4.com/Tembo-4x4-hardtop-130-3x-upward-rear-side-doors-/-no-windows

Has anyone here done something similar with a timber frame and ply skin the fiberglassed? I've built my roof tent using this method and found it to be fairly easy yet very effective.

Thanks in advance,

Adam

I made a fibreglass hard top for a 110 double cab and a hard top for a soft top ibex. Both were made with a temporary mould to achieve a one off roof. Feel free to pm me If you want help and advice with fibreglass (I've done more than my fair share of car work and build boats for a living).
