danicklin
Now that I've finally found the correct replacement belts and got the engine running smoothly, I have been driving the fleet of Land Rovers around the property and diagnosing other issues. When driving over some un-even terrain, I noticed that one of the vehicles would easily rock side to side and make a clunking noise. After inspection it seems that bottom nut of the shock absorber is hitting the bottom of the spring mounting plate. There seems to be a considerable gap either side. Can this be easily adjusted or does it mean the shocks need to be replaced?
Giles
Hi, You need some bushes There should be two in total at the bottom of each damper: one on either side of the spring plate thing. The part no. is 552818 .... good luck !

Lightning
Looking at the state of that lower shock bolt, it would probably be worth fitting two new shocks, they are only cheap and will come with all the correct bushes and new nuts as well.
reb78
What he said^^^ Some Monroe shocks will do you fine - think they or Armstrong are the OEM.
Mo Murphy
Looks to me like the shock body has parted company with the stud and nut ! Mo
Wytze
Do the bottem three coils of the spring normally sit on one and other? If not , you need two springs aswell.

Yes, 110 springs are closed at the bottom and open up when the axle articulates
