Snorkle ?

Hi guys

Son has just bought a 52 plate Disco 2 td5 manual, anyway amongst other things he wants to fit a snorkle but not sure how you stop rain water being sucked in the top of the snorkle whilst driving, obviously snorkle would need to be sealed in the engine bay and the type of snorkle he wants is a Kova snorkle, what do you think 🙂

I can't see why you'd want a snorkel with a filter in open air, that's bound to get wet in our climate.

Mine (on a 300Tdi) is open tube until the (engine bay) air filter box, and topped with a u-bend of silicone hose so it points down... simple.

Ar so the airfilter is enough to stop water from getting in 👍

Are o was thinking more of rain getting sucked in whilst driving 🙂

Main reason for leaving the flutter valve in the air filter housing. Donaldson types seperate the water out as part of the centrifugal filtering and it drains out of a drain hole
