Stefan Anton
I am new in the offroad world and I have read thousands and thousands of articles about tyres and everything and they just confused me more and more. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ 2.7 and i mostly plan to offroad in the snow ( and snowy ice). The problem is that the place where I plan to go is 300 km away and i need to go on the highway every weekend to get there so I am looking at something that is good on the road(because this is also my daily car) but goes well in the snow and is also affordable. Can you guys help a new fellow in this sport? The tyre dimensions are 245/70/R16
miketomcat
Bfg Muds are ok in the snow but I believe AT's are better (I've not tried them). Deep snow your probably going to need chains anyway so tyres are academic, ice you want studs really (which are no good on tarmac). mpb
Cooper STmaxx do well in snow and have good road manners
Alsace_rangie
Seconded on the ST Maxx, though up to now only used them in Mud, stone, and on road. And they come in the size you want
FridgeFreezer
BFG MT or AT are a pretty foolproof choice. General Grabber AT / AT2 are also pretty good, I did a lot of miles on & off-road with mine.
Troll Hunter
I'll second FF on the General Grabber AT2's regarding mileage, although I think that they are now no longer available. I've no experience of the GG AT3. Mike
