BogMonster Posted January 20, 2007 Share Posted January 20, 2007 Welcome Do you mean the dump valve on the air filter can, or the water drain at the lowest point? Both of these should be sealed when fitting a snorkel. I filled the water drain with silicone sealant, and I took the dump valve off and replaced it with a little red cap from a 400ml WD40 can, taped on, which is just the right size There's a thread on here somewhere about it, from when I fitted the Safari snorkel... topcars Posted January 21, 2007 Author Share Posted January 21, 2007 Thank you all for the replies. What I meant was the Dump Valve in the air intake hose,and airbox. I now realise that I need to seal both ! What happens to any rain water if it gets in. The snorkel is ex MOD complete with a Donaldson airbox and filters. western Posted January 21, 2007 Share Posted January 21, 2007 small amounts of rain water won't hurt, my 200TDi just intakes from the standard side grille & hasn't given me any cause for concern when raining, it's the big doses of water when wading that cause problems for the engines internal parts.
