Snagger
Hi all, I have a friend who needs a new chassis on their cherished 2004 Discovery 2 (7 seater). She’s not into Land Rovers per se, but does like this one a lot. She’s trying to get quotes for the replacement job, and has just one so far from TerrainTech in Axminster for about £5k including Labour (plus another £1k VAT). That seems a fair price, given that it includes all the sundries, though I did spot the inclusion of new body attachment fixings but not the mounting rubbers…. Anyway, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of them? I know nothing about them. If anyone has any recommendations of other businesses offering the same service, please say so. cackshifter
Not Terrain Tech but I have had new chassis on both my Defenders done by Paul Marsden at Marsden Auto Developments. No problems, very happy. And they are literally across the yard from Richards. But last time there was a fair wait for them to do it. (I'd have been worried I suppose if there hadn't been). Paul was @marsieon here, not sure whether he still follows these forums.
Nonimouse
Give Pete Broome a bell at Beacon Motors in Honiton - ask his opinion.
SteveG
Funny I just saw this morning that Sussex Land Rovers are now supplying and fitting the MAER galvanized chassis… https://sussex-landrovers.business.site/ They’re currently building a 6x6… I have no idea what Sussex Land Rover are like though, but Maer appear to be building a good reputation for their chassis. They appear to be able to supply fairly quickly even with shipping from Poland.
