Andy
approx top of the wheel hubs if i remember correctly. the limiting factor is the axle breather pipes, once they go under water you'll need to change the oil in the diffs. have a look for the breather pipes (black on my 200) & see how high they go then you'll know. from memory the front comes up the nearside of the bulkhead above the hockey stick & the rear goes up the a-frame & stops level with the chassis. freeagent
I would have thought the limiting factor was the air intake, i agree that the breather hoses are important, but if the air intake sucks up some water, that's it. dead engine... i think its 20" which is to the top of the wheel rim.... VeryDisco
The reason you may have heard different things is that you can drive through deeper water if you create a bow wave at the front of the vehicle. The "wave" at the front of the vehicle creates a "dip" behind it, ie where the air intake is, so if you know what you're doing you can drive slightly deeper water. But if you're not sure, don't drive it!
western
LR recommened wading depth for Discovery is 0.5metre or 20 inches for a standard vehicle
Andy
agreed the air intake is the more important limit, i said breathers as they are much lower on stock cars.
