ANR1808 Engine/gearbox mounts - genuine parts cause vibrations?

Recommended Posts

I'm buying 4 new engine and gearbox mounts, and always buy genuine LR ones for these parts. About to buy 4 more, but saw this on Turners site:
https://www.turnerengineering.co.uk/anr-1808-engine-mount-c2x20635009
"ANR 1808 Mounting engine rubber
Replacement part (not Britpart). Land Rover have changed specification to a harder rubber which causes vibration. This replacement mounting rubber is of the correct specification to prevent this from happening."

Two quick questions:
1. Has anybody/everybody found this to be true?
2. Any idea what brand the 'good' ones are now please?

Asking as I'm in Europe and about to place a large order with lrdirect, so it's very expensive to just order the gearbox mounts from Turners in isolation.
Lrdirect have some OEM ones listed but no details etc, so any advice gratefully received:

(My last genuine lr gearbox mount lasted 5,000km.... {shrug})

I haven't had the ones from Turners, but I switched my old ones for a set of new ones (engine and gearbox) from Glen Coyne's ebay shop last year. The difference is night and day.

He doesn't currently have any in stock, but follow his Facebook page and he periodically announces when he stock. They are £29.95 a pair, or at least they were in January.

The Turner ones solved all my problems.

I had a massive amount of vibration after changing the 25+ year old mounts during a chassis change.

Couldn’t believe it was just due to new mounts. Had the timing belt changed and timing reset after the starter motor got shaken to pieces. That improved things a bit.

Changing the mounts to Turners was night and day difference.

glencoynes may be good but they are rarely in stock!

Good news, just had a notification that the Glencoyne mounts are in stock on his ebay shop.

I ordered 2 pairs for my 110, I only replaced 1 mount during the chassis change which was nearly 8 years ago, so I think the mounts need to be replaced with new ones. My gearbox mounts use the same part, hence 2 pairs bought.
