Defender Newb
Just spotted that one of the pipes from the back of the water pump seemed to be blocked. 😱 What confuses me even more is that when I cleaned the gunk out there isn’t actually a hole from what I can see anyway. 🤷🏼♂️ It appears to be solid dead end with no waterway unless it’s just the angle I was looking at it. Haven’t pulled out the manuals yet, so thought I would put it out there. Engine may have been cobbled together from 3.5 and 3.9 bits if that makes any difference. 🤷🏼♂️
FridgeFreezer
They re-used the casting from an earlier version, I think those have a core plug in them although yours may want a new one judging by the amount of crust.
Defender Newb
Ah. Ok. Was thinking if it caused an issue it would have raised its head by now. There was an active water pipe connected to it though, don’t get why it would be connected. I’m assuming that both outlets on the back of the pump were water out? Any benefit to swapping it out or better as is with one blocked?
