Hawklord
The rear door on my 300TDI Defender creaks very badly when opening and closing and there is a lot of movement in the hinges. Two options are to replace the hinge pins and bearings or buy new hinge kit but the price difference between the two is around £50. Will just changing the pins etc cure the problem or do the hinges themselves wear, bearing in mind that they are probably the original hinges now being 28 years old. Stellaghost
Some lubrication should cure the creaks, however all the components wear and after 28 years I wouldn't be complaining too much about having to replace them especially if you can get another bunch of years out of them regards Stephen
western
Try giving them a good spray with a lubricant, or replace the brass ball & pins, you can get these as repair kits on ebay defender rear door hinge pins I have replaced mine twice in 28 years. western
The latest hinges are not repairable so be careful which ones you buy.
