dubdublin
HELP!! 2008 Range Rover L322 replaced the Instrument Cluster Bought a 2008 Range Rover L322 recently and replaced the Instrument Cluster as the Pixel readouts were poor with a used Breakers yard Instrument Cluster with the exact same part numbers and after confirming with the Breakers yard that it had less than the 151000 miles on the original and he knew of no problems with the car not starting. With this info and the number of Instrument Clusters being sold on line I went ahead and fitted this used Instrument Cluster, the milage stayed the same (151000) and all instruments had movement with car lights, information screen radio etc working, but car would not start. There is now a Tamper Dot above the milage readout I now understand shows that the Instrument Cluster and Car VIN number do not match and could be the reason the car will not work. I have the exact same problem now when I refit the existing Instrument Cluster. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
Simon_CSK
I would suspect if the car isn't starting that it will be the same as the Sport. On the Sport the speedo head is linked to the immobiliser so unless it is talking the same language to the BCU and ECU it will not start as the codes don't match. The LCM (Light control module) also stores the mileage and will display that tamper dot if changed. I think unfortunately you are now into territory where you need a specialist with the Land Rover diagnostic software to try and work out what is happening and try and understand where the messages between the modules and the Immobiliser are falling down
