300Tdi Discovery 1 - Clutch Issue

Recommended Posts

Still having fun - unable to bleed or get fluid to the clutch - new master cylinder fitted - new slave fitted - can reverse bleed and get past damper to master but not into master.

Currently got pedal wedged down - reservoir full - bleed nipple cracked

Initially small amount of fluid shot out when bleed nipple cracked but nothing now.

Any one got any idea's i can try?

Master does not appear to be priming, no fluid exiting when pedal pressed.

I’m not that familiar with the Discovery pedal box, but I can’t imagine it being much different from the SIII assembly in operating principles.  Have you got a little bit of slack between the push rod and the piston with the pedal released?  If not, the piston will be blanking the reservoir ports.  That 0.5mm or so play is critical.
