Oil pump renewal. 200Tdi

Stripped the pump, all looks well with only a polishing of the gear teeth

and the housing looks good and endfloat ok.

Oil pressure used to be around 40psi hot, dropping to 15 at idle. Have

replaced all shell bearings which should help up it a bit anyway.

Genuine land Rover gears are half the price of an aftermarket pump, so

can anyone advise, hopefully having gone down the same road ?

A company called turner engineering has an article on rebuilding the 200tdi, in that article they state the oil pump is very long lasting and unless excessive use the original, I think i would use genuine rotors if i were you.

the article is here 200 tdi rebuild

however the last time I called them to order some parts they wernt very interested so i would go via land Rover ;)

oil pressure according to the Defender WSM & Haynes manual should be 1.76 to 3.86bar or 25 to 55psi with engine warm at normal operating speeds, yours sounds similar to my very high mileage 200Tdi, if you want to fit new rotors go for the LR genuine parts erc9706 & err1088 1 of each. :i-m_so_happy:
