oterpoter
Hello. I am wondering if I can use the old speedometer in my 1974 land rover series 3 with the LT230. And if so, how can I assure that the reading is correct? 1.03:1 ratio on the LT230. The rear axle is a 4.7 Salisbury. Tyres are 33. 1" (255/85/r16). Thx Mathias
smallfry
A company here in UK called Speedy cables, will make any cable with different ends and lengths that you want. Will also recalibrate the speedo to suit, but will need all the details of gear ratios and tyres etc. Had things done by them and worked well, and not that expensive. I guess postage and time will be a problem for you ? Must have someone similar in Norway ?
FridgeFreezer
If you look in the technical archive for the "Wibbly wobbly speedo thread" I think that lists a lot of the different LT230 speedo drive gears and ratio calculations etc. - it may be possible to make it work without recalibration if you know what the Series speedo head requires.
