Paddy_SP
Has anyone here any idea where I could find some headlight adjuster screws in stainless, as per the attached pic? The ones on my 110 are really rusty and truly horrible, so I'd like to replace them with something that isn't going to go the same way overnight! Paddy_SP
Alternatively, does anyone here know what threads they have? If I can't buy any, I guess I'll have to machine some up!
Maverik
I think its a standard metric - easiest way is get something like an M5 or M6 set screw and lie them next to each other and see of they mesh. This is somthign thats bigged me for a long time too, but never got around to making any! - make I'll have dibs on any spares you make up
Paddy_SP
Thanks for your reply - I'll have to pull the lamps back off and remove one of the screws in order to put a thread gauge on it. That'll have to wait though as I've got to finish wiring up the engine bay first!

Thank you for the link - as you say, the price is, erm, 'rather high' - best I get on the lathe, methinks!
Paddy_SP
If anyone else wants to remove their rusty adjuster screws and replace them with something that'll last, a bag of stainless M4 x 50 button heads cost me about three and a half quid - a Nyloc nut run up to the right place and then tweaked to the desired position results in a really good fit (don't forget to apply a dab of anti-seize compound if you also use a SS nut).
