boaterboy
The MoT certificate for my TD5 Series 2 Discovery shows an Advisory - Oil leak, but not excessive [8.4.1 (a) (i)] Please could somebody identify where the leak is for me, please? Thank you, in anticipation.

Bowie69
Well we aren't going to be able to see where it is coming from without being in front of the truck then....
bear
If it's the engine the usual suspects are the front cam seal or rocker cover gasket at the rear. Griff
Anderzander
It could be the engine, gearbox, transfer box, front axle or back axle … they do all tend to leak from somewhere. Can you ask the MOT guy ?
boaterboy
Apologies. I wasn''t trying to be clever. I thought that perhaps the code [8.4.1 (a)(i)] was taken from a LR manual and identified exactly where the leak was. It seems that is not the case. Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my uninformed question, I will ask the MoT station as Anderzander suggests.
Anderzander
Definitely no need to apologise! That reference is to the MoT manual. I think once we know the area / we can definitely help you narrow it down - but I would say an awfully large number of land rovers have that as an advisory every year - with no I’ll effects if you keep toppping them up ! bear
If they're not leaking they're empty 😄 Griff
