Hybrid_From_Hell
The numbers are just casing numbers no exact reference or meaming a series diff is 4.7:1 ratio a number of different casing but basically either a one piece casing or a 2 piece with an anuminium front bolt on nose piece
Arjan
Thank You. So there is no way to "date" either the differential or the diff itself...
Hybrid_From_Hell
No, I can get close from pictures with a date range - that's providing its the right diff in there !! Or Tell you / pics of what it should be in there ! Nige
Arjan
This is just for entertainment purposes (.....) I removed the rear diff of the Hybrid last night as it stopped working in a rather spectacular way while towing a trailer... It seems some bolts worked loose... Hope to replace the diff tonight for another one.....
Gazzar
Oh dear. Was it exciting when it went through a rapid unscheduled disassembly?
mickeyw
The only diff failures I've ever had were also caused by the crownwheel bolts coming loose and shearing. Your diff looks like it's been using too much of that special dry lube 😲
Arjan
It came apart in a rather noisy and vibrating way and I must say it made for an interesting evening.. Quite a bit of oil came out, with quite a bit of debris, when drained to remove the diff. However, I'm not sure about the axle breathers doing what they should do over the decades so i'll take this moment to fit these : On the OneTen they work fine...
