Junglie
Hi all, So the workshop manual tells me how to set static timing by lining the oil pump up in a certain direction when at TDC etc, and that's all well and good. But how does one actually get the ^&$£@ dizzy in? Because of course as you push it in it engages with the drive gear and turns so won't line up with the drive... I can't work out how much it turns - it feels like I've tried ever possible combo but probably haven't... Suggestions very welcome.
Paul C
Get a copy of the 3.5 3.9 4.2 engine overhaul manual and it tells you, I can't remember where I downloaded it from, it is easier when you can see the pictures but it says the tang of the drive should be in the 10 o'clock to 4 o'clock position then line the dissy up 30degrees anticlockwise from #1 position and drop it in.
Junglie
Thanks Paul. "Then drop it in" does remind me of the old Haynes manual "Reassembly is a reverse of the above procedure" lie instruction step though
