uprated rear crank seal from Turners for a 300tdi

Recommended Posts

i've just ordered a new rear seal for my 300 with the two extra holes in the bottom as used on the TGV
can the holes be drilled and tapped in situe to make use of these holes-i've not as yet pulled the gearbox and flywheel but it would be good to know before hand as i really don't want to pull the engine as at present the gearbox is the easier option

The extra holes are not needed on the 300 , the important thing is that it is a Turner seal and not a JLR as they certainly were oversize in recent years and, for Turners, a known fault

Having just done this on our 300Tdi, I can confirm that the extra holes are not needed.

Happily can also confirm that we no longer have any oil leaks from the rear crank onto the garage floor.

Some pictures to that may help. Having some threaded studs to act as guide pins helped to ensure a perfect alignment.

Used the recommended sealant by Turners also for this specific job as stated on their website.
