Stellaghost
Curiosity has got the better of me..... I've often wondered how forum members decided on their forum name Some are pretty obvious ie ; @miketomcat @L19MUD @steve b Others not so obvious ie ; @bishbosh @FridgeFreezer @Bowie69 Some of you may have wondered where @Stellaghost came from, well mine was a total accident and computer incompetence on my behalf, I thought I was putting password in but it ended up being my forum name... So Stella because it is a nickname I've had for around 47yrs and Ghost who is a Chihuahua and a right little daddy's boy So "how did you get yours " might even get a laugh...... Bowie69
Not really that funny, surname Bowater.... 69 year of moon landing, nothing more than that, and certainly not my year of birth! So... We now know your ebay password, great! 1
Popular Post soutie
Nickname from time doing National Service. Soutie means salty in Afrikaans. A slang name for an English South African. As one foot in England and one in South Africa and your member hanging in the sea. My retort, was I was proud that my member was long enough to hang in the water. 1

A conversation at uni ended up with me announcing 'Superpants to the rescue', ever since then it has been a nickname. 1
Popular Post Happyoldgit
For years I was miserable, then almost overnight a miracle occurred and I became happy. Truth is I got fed up with folks, mostly newbies it has to be said, who said I lived up to my name if they didn't like this or that bit of moderating - back when such things were more common 😉 2
miketomcat
Like you say mines obvious Mike, first name and tomcat, I was building one when I joined the forum. Ironically if I'd joined a year earlier it would probably been Mikedisco, which given @discomikey and I share the same first and surname would of really confused people. pat_pending
Pat-Pending, from wacky races, he has a "Convert-a-car" that's full of gadgets and can do anything, seemed very Land Rover to me. I nearly chose another wacky races character, Sarge', because he drives the "Army surplus special" which was also rather apt.

elbekko
I was 12 or so, liked The Simpsons, and my name is Ben, in that time around here shortened to "Bekke". So I became El Bekko (instead of El Barto). And it stuck around. 2

monkie
I'm from the East Midlands originally but lived in the South of England from my early 20s onwards. When I first moved down here I sounded like a Northern Monkey according to all my new friends in the South so they all called me monkey. I spell "Monkie" with an ie at the end just for a difference
fmmv
I had a Saab 900 T16, FxxxMMV. We had it years and it was so quick, I was asked was it tweaked as it was quicker than the Saab dealer's Carlsson. It was one of the 2 cars I have ever had which I bitterly regret selling, the other being a Mini 1275GT. So fmmv in its memory.
