There are so many schemes going on under ESG investment that you can’t trust any of it. The problem with most of these is how they're reported in the media, not that they're some scam or conspiracy. A scientist discovers some new battery chemistry or whatever, they make a small test unit in a lab full of millions of dollars of gear & prove their findings and then the media jump on it as if it's a finished product that will be in the shops next week. In reality, scaling the production up reliably & cost-effectively is a massive task requiring huge money and not every invention makes it out the other side. Most of us on this forum could bolt a car together in our garage if we wanted to, but if someone asked us to bolt 10,000 cars a year together and pass all the safety & emissions regs and work reliably though a 3 year warranty we'd have a hell of a job. It's the same with drugs - people complain that promising cures are somehow buried and never seen (another "conspiracy"!), but they're got to run serious clinical trials on hundreds or even thousands of people to prove the drug works and is safe, which can take years and cost millions, and having spent years & millions you can discover that your promising new drug causes 5% of the population to keel over and boom, it's in the bin and back to square 1.
