Anyone know where you can buy some vehicles rollers for doing 4 wheel drive train tests like in this video?

Had a look about, but can't see anything being made or sold for this. Are they all custom built? If so, anyone up for making a set? Thanks.

Could also be a cable drum roller used by electricians. There are probably ones that are strong enough to take the weight.

Ronnie Dale used to build sets for LRE, he's still in the training game some where up in the North East

He lives about 6 miles from where I live

Not late to the party, but late to reply due to looking at my scrap pile

I can make you a set of three, @Ed Poore will be calling in at mine in a couple of weeks, if he has room he may be able to relay them to Wales, which is a damn site closer than I am

Maybe pm Ed and see if you can sort something out

We should be able to relay them provided we don't shoot an obscene amount of deer. We will have a 16ft flatbed with us so I'm sure we can chuck them on.

Shame - not sure when I'm next heading east as there's a silent compressor that's been dropped off at a mates yard in Guildford I also need to collect.

so this is where I'm at

just needs fully welding and painting to finish off

The rollers are freight type rollers, I've  done 6 per roller set purely for strength, rollers are also ranged in an arc to cover up to a 35" tyre

@Chicken Drumstick are you happy to knock up some wood ramps, or steel ones, it will just make relaying them a tad easier, let me know as soon as please

Regards Stephen

what I would give to have a scrap pile like yours!!

There's offcuts and then there's Stephen style offcuts.

I thought I'd found a good place when I lived in Surrey that to them 8ft of 80x80x5mm box was an off cut but Stephen's take the biscuit.

Just need to work somewhere where the opportunity to liberate stuff on a regular basis exists.

It is rather useful.... also useful when you have somewhere to stash it at work for a bit first

A mate managed to snag a whole engine crane once.... I'm not even certain it was actually in the scrap pile.

Mate of mine elsewhere managed to snag a ~6 month old CNC mill as it had been given the wrong asset number when new, so it got given an old number and disposed of when that number came round
