90 canves top

hello everyone .

i've ordered a soft top and stick set from paddocks for me 90 , the stick set has arrived and the canvas should be with me next week .

the question is , is there any preperation that needs to be done to the canvas before fitting . i've never had a soft top so i'm unsure what needs to be done , but i seem to remember that they need to be looked after .

how do i keep it clean , should i pressure wash it or not ?? and is there anything i can do to it now that will prolong it's life ??

it will only be fitted during the warmer part of the year and will then be replaced with a truck cab when it's cold , so , should i clean it and prepare it for storage ? if so what do you recommend ?

thanks in advance :D

Nah not alot. You can jet wash them just don't do it so close, water will keep it clean fine. But Brasso is the best for keeping the back window good. When it starts to go cloudy then you brasso to get it clear again and stop it cracking.

Also keep it tight because if it is a Army canvas style And Land Rover Gen style. then it will srink over time. Useally noticeable on the back tailgate as the rear window get thurther and thurther up .

I have always found that take out the rope they put in them for tightening it to the body and replace with bungie cord from B&Q or somewhere. The cords always seem to losen on the motorway and on the road and then the canvas wil start to flap. The bungie cord is easy to put the roof on and always atay tight

Also you want to hunt out an ex army type roll car ( protection bar really) as they have seat belts mount which is what you will need as you will have non as soon as you take the top of. Like this bar

mine has been on the 90 for nearly 4 years and still looking good. You may find like all of my 3 90 soft tops that when you put the soft top on it will leak less :)

My 90 has been in the Uk for 2.5 years and in Aus for 1.5 years. And in Aus it went all the way around Aus in the dust and mud. 25,000 miles of it. But still looks fine

And when it clean (well sort of )
