bush doctor
Has anyone made use of the cavernous space behind the rad on a 200tdi? I have removed the rad and made the carrier narrower but I am wondering how to mount it as the steering box is on one side I have a few ideas but am open to suggestions. ciderman
Mount it towards the nearside , So what intercooler are you using ?
LR90
Terry of Shires did this but not sure if he's online. Moved the rad back and placed his 8274 BEHIND the grill. Very neat.

markwindsurf
I did this on the 110 having fitted an electric fan, moved intercooler back and slightly up about 3 " for winch clearance and moved the rad a further 2" so I could get a fan between them, don't have any pics but used an allisport intercooler to my size specs, and moved both rad and intercooler higher. the real muddy90
When I had a standard intercooler I moved the whole lot in it's frame back 2" so i could get the 8274 in nice 'n' tight. When I then got a big intercooler I cut the frame up smaller & went back a further 3" but had to go up & over to the near side tight to the intercooler pipes. This JUST cleared the steering box. It also gave me room to sit a p38 oil cooler in front for the auto box. I welded angled brackets to the rad frame which just bolt to the inner wing bits. russ1
When moving the rad what did you do with the main feed an return from the rad can you just cut them down or do you replace them with other hoses? Thanks
kkk2
I have fitted a 300tdi rad to my 200 as the inlet and return are both on the lefthand side allowing the rad to be moved back right to the power steering box.
the real muddy90
Russ, I just cut the existing hoses, didn't work out too bad. I like the idea of a 300 rad though. I've still got about 4" behind the rad but no point moving it any more cos the bumper would end up under the wings!
