BogMonster
Sod the Landy. That's a Mabey Johnson bridge isn't it? Who put it up? And what load class is it? I built (not on my own) 1 of those over a 100m span back in 1996. Absalute brilliant bridge to build. Just a big meccano kit. Based on the old Bailley bridge.Any more pics would be good. Don't know what the make of bridge it but it could be - yes its a bit Meccano set, it was built on site by the local highways engineers and pushed across the river with a bulldozer I think. Guest WALFY
Before we went to Bosnia to build it we went to the factory to see it being built. Quite impressive. Mr Mabey and Mr Jonson made their money very shrewdly. When the Army decommissioned Bailly bridge for the first time this pair of clever peoplr purchased only the pins used to build the bridge. Then when people bought their bridge they then had to go to them and buy some VERY expensive pins. They then went on and redesigned the original bailley panel, but upgraded it. The Bailley bridge was able to be built buy hand. Now it can only be built by crane. Makes our job that little bit easier
bishbosh
C200 can and is still built by hand AFAIK. MU is a different proposition though!
