This is what happens when people entertain those emails that say 'Dear User, please validate your account' or 'please confirm your details' etc

He was probably having too much trouble breathing (and getting oxygen to his brain) when he saw that on his account, to think to pull the sale. Or perhaps he's waiting for ebay to investigate.

A convincing looking Ebay advert for a shiney 90Tdi. The owner of the account clearly knew the auction was there and had made it quite clear that there was some scam being perpetrated. The price when I saw it was less then £2 with, IIRC, 12 hours to go.
