B reg 90
I had this problem. After much cursing of the rear door, then doing events with out the rear door I found that the best solution is to fit a truck cab... better visibilty, rear corners don't get stuck under tree and best of all you get get stuff out of the back with out being a contortionist. Failing that how about on the bonnet - easy to get to, right where you would need them. Adrian
Orgasmic Farmer
A mate has threm on the bonnet. Quite handy but they need to be quite short, they make the bonet awfully heavy to lift and the fixins mean he can't remove the bonnet completely to work all round the motor. SiWhite
Mine are cut down slightly and in brackets on the side of the cage; http://www.4x4adventures.co.uk/_main/slide...06th%20Jan%2007 Makes visibility a bit more challenging if you've got a SW but works pretty well. Les Brock
Mr Neale has some competition on who can carry the most stuff
bishbosh
There is no competition where Mr Neale is concerned Les! Well, maybe Ralph might challenge on the auxiliary equipment, but nobody else carries a lathe that I know of!
white90
Mine fit inside, side to side and for events the rear door is removed http://www.4x4adventures.co.uk/_main/_imag...mage015_big.jpg
will_warne
Mine fit inside, side to sideand for events the rear door is removed That's pretty much what I used to do. There's no easy solution to this problem - what ever you do they won't be as accessable as in a truck cab mounted on the back.

landrover598
I had mine fitted to the roof on my old landy, bit of a struggle to refit them when they were full of mud though
Mo Murphy
Mine are on the roof and indeed they are heavy when full of mud but then, that's what you have kids for Mo
JST
thats what codrivers are for as well, putting them back! i think for competitions the roof is realistically out of the window unless they are a spare set or you dont use them much. for ease of codriver use they need to be easy to get to and put away. clambering up onto a roof to get them down after 6hrs of challenging etc wouldnt be my idea of fun, plus put them back again, and you cant bash all the mud out! across the rear of the load bay by the back door works well, esp if the door is removed. If its just occasional greenlane use then the roof would prob work well and they are out of the way most of the time as you prob wont be using them much. Alt If i used them in H?T and had a cage i would prob go the SiWhite option as it also keeps more carp outside.
Turbocharger
TroddenMasses has them on the roof of his Ninety. He put them up there over a year ago and they've not been down again since... If I had any they'd be on the sides of the hardtop (but only because I need the space in the back).
