Paddy
Followed your idiot proof guide to replacing the transfer rear output seal and like you I replaced the bearing as I had it stripped down that far, and it was found to be a bit rough. No dramas at all, even the 30mm nut came off easily ( a bit too easily, who ever had been there before me had left it slack, nylock was tight so I couldn’t see it backing off). Only thing that gave me a bit of grief was the bearings large circlip as I didn’t have the right size pliers! Thanks for the guide Les and thanks to all the other contributors to the technical archive, it’s a gold mine. regards

Lars L
I must say that it's really nice when people get back with a thanks after they've got advice from a forum. Or at least get back to tell us that their issue has been solved. Yesterday I got a PM via the SLRK forum from a guy who had seen that I offered some explanations from the parts book on a PTO to someone. As he also had a PTO in mind, he asked if I could get him a copy as well. I answered his PM, brought the book to work, made some copies and faxed them to him. Do you think he thought that this was worth a Thank You?
Gromit
Will be doing mine at the weekend as I have to do the handbrake. Having an idiots guide also gives you the confidence to get stuck into the job. Les, if you were a bit nearer and possibly a different sex, I'd marry you
