Very noisy fan sorted....

The heater fan on my daughters boyfreinds discovery (Series II td5) suddenly developed a very bad noise and vibration.

It sounded like a Chinook taking to the air..... no joke.

He took it back today from where he bought it as one of a number of a small jobs that needed doing under the one month warranty he was promised when he bought it.

We were able to watch the job done....three bolts to get the heater fan/motor out. Sitting inside the fan was a piece of the plastic mesh filter from the top side of the engine compartment.........tip it out reassemble job done.

Motor now purrs like a pussy cat.

Seemingly this is a common problem so do not despair if your D2 heater motor sounds as if it is about to fall apart.....
